Currency exchange

Finland's monetary unit is the euro (EUR, €) divided into 100 cents. Currency Exchange Office Forex serves you at the main railway station. All banks are open from Mon-Fri from 9am to 4.30pm.

Distances

Taxi journey from the airport takes approximately 15 minutes to the Conference venue (Best Western Hotel Haaga) and 30 minutes to the city centre (Hotel Albert, Hotel Aleksanteri, Hotel Torni). The city centre is only about 20 minutes (7 kilometers) away from the Conference venue.

IT services

You can connect your laptop or mobile phone to a wireless network in many places throughout the city centre. The WLAN Hotspot -map provides details of where you can connect. At the conference venue computer lab will be open during the event. Wireless internet access is available throughout the conference venue. You wwill find the username and password for the wireless internet of Haaga Campus from the conference bag. Please note that Haaga Campus and Hotel Haaga have different usernames and passwords for their wireless internets.

Pharmacy

The pharmacy Eliel-apteekki at the main railway station is open Mon-Fri from 7.30am to 9pm, Sat from 10am to 6pm and Sun from 11am to 5pm.

Registration

Question: Is it possible to receive an invoice for one full registration with membership sent electronically to my email address? Answer: Yes, it is possible to receive an invoice by email. When filling out the registration, choose INVOICE on the payment page. Also please write ‘invoice by email’ in the OTHER INFORMATION field, as we usually send invoices by usual mail.

Question: I would like to attend the Gala Dinner on a personal basis. Is that possible without attending the Conference? Answer: Yes, that is possible. All you have to do is register yourself through our Web Register System and choose "Other" as status. Then on the page “Fees” choose “Extra ticket: Gala Dinner and Awards Ceremony EUR 100”.

Question: I am considering to attend one and half day conference program at EuroCHRIE. What would be the registration fee in that case? Answer: When filling in the web registration form choose "Industry day professional delegate" as Participant Status. Then on page Registration Fees mark number 2 to the QTY of "Industry day professional delegate". This way the system will charge you two days conference fee EUR 190.

The Conference venue, Haaga Campus, is situated within easy reach of Helsinki-Vantaa Airport, 15 minutes by car, and the city centre is only about 20 minutes (7 kilometers) away from the Conference venue thanks to excellent public transportation.

Weather

The weather both in summer and winter has its own exotic attraction. Autumn and spring have their own beautiful features reflected by the natural surroundings. The rich colours of the autumn last a week or two, their timing varying from year to year.

Visa

Foreign nationals who need an entry visa are requested to apply it at the nearest Finnish mission. In countries where Finland does not have a mission, another Schengen country can represent Finland in visa matters.
